Create CEIC Feed

Our Data Feeds include the latest series metadata and incremental timepoint data for each user's series. During this process, we check for any metadata or timepoint changes for the subscribed series since the previous feed run, catching and delivering on the changes between the two feed runs.

When there is a change in the series metadata, but not a change in the timepoint, the feed will deliver the series' latest metadata and empty the timepoint section for the affected series.

When there is a new or revised timepoint, the feed will deliver the series’ latest metadata and the updated or new series timepoint value for the affected series.

If there is no change in both series metadata or timepoint, the feed will not deliver any file.

CEIC Data Feeds can be created from the API Portal.

  • Go to "Menu Service management", through the CEIC Data Feeds section, and press Create Feed
  • Here you will have 2 options to create a feed:
    1. The "Use series list" option is used when you know your Series IDs
    2. The "Use data search criteria" option is used to set the criteria for your feed through keywords, dates, topic and more. The only mandatory parameter is to define the Database (for which you will need to be subscribed for).

On the bottom of the page you will find the "Data Delivery Section", where you can set your preferences for the data delivery. We offer 2 types of format - JSON and XML, delivered via CEIC or each User's FTP, language, consolidation and notification options. There are also checkboxes, which you can check or uncheck, depending on your preferences.

Once you have finished defining your data content criteria, click Save. A Series Preview window will pop up with a short summary and a preview of the results you will receive.

You will then need to press the Create button. The portal will redirect you to the initial page, where all of your feeds are listed. Here, you will be able to navigate between active and inactive. You can check the pre-defined frequency, delivery method, creation time and time of thelast run. This page also allows you to operate with the created feeds such as edition, deletion and dump creation for this feed.
